Summer is here and so is summer travel. Do you crave the sun or, on the contrary, thirst for freshness? Summer vacations are an opportunity to warm your heart or refresh your ideas, a tricolor break or a long-distance trip in a season that has many climatic surprises in store.

Opting for a stay with family, friends or as a couple in these regions is not easy as the choice is vast. Whether you prefer to go roaming or take advantage of some seasonal rentals adapted to your travel profile, everything is possible. We share with you a selection of some countries where you can enjoy a rejuvenating summer period. 

1. Bali

While other Asian countries are affected by the monsoon, Bali is in the middle of the dry season during the summer. This is why the island is part of the top 10 destinations. It is an ideal time to discover the rice fields by bike, visit the temples, bask on the beaches, dive to admire the underwater life, get a massage, discover towns full of charm like Ubud, go surfing, or still go climbing Mount Batur at sunrise. 

2. Unexpected Brazil 

You may not think about it enough, but Brazil is an interesting destination in summer. Indeed, it is the period when the temperatures are the most pleasant but also that of the low tourist season. Direction Rio de Janeiro to climb to the top of Corcovado, discover the very urban Sao Paulo, the beaches, the exotic Salvador de Bahia, the spectacular Iguazu Falls, the sumptuous animal reserve of Pantanal or even the Amazon. 

3. Corsica, the Island of Beauty

Corsica is naturally part of the top 11 destinations because it remains the favourite of the French for the summer holidays. And, for good reason, with its dream beaches, its steep relief and its sublime landscapes suitable for hiking, as well as the many rivers and waterfalls, the Island of Beauty has something to seduce. The beaches of Porto-Vecchio, the city of Bonifacio dominating the sea from the cliffs, the citadels of Corte and Calvi, the secret landscapes of Cap Corse, and strolling through the typical villages are all activities to do in Corsica.

4. The Very Beautiful Croatia

Only two hours by plane from France, Croatia is a perfect destination to combine idleness and sporting activities. Indeed, the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic are a real invitation to swim, while the interior of the land is full of exceptional nature to discover during hikes, such as in the park of Plitvice or Krka. Without forgetting the charm of the cities of Dubrovnik, Split or Trogir and the islands (Hvar, Mljet…). In the northwest of the country, Istria is dotted with charming traditional villages.

5. Greece: An Open-Air Museum

Ranked in the top 10 destinations, Greece is a  must for summer holidays. Indeed, a country steeped in history with exceptional archaeological sites, Greece is a veritable open-air museum. Athens, Delphi, Olympia or Thessaloniki, so many cities worth visiting. Let’s not forget either the heavenly beaches where it is good to relax. Greece is also its islands, each with its own character. Santorini, Mykonos, Corfu, Rhodes, Crete, Hydra or Lesbos, which one will make you succumb?

6. Norway, a Nature Destination

A nature destination par excellence, Norway is ideal for recharging your batteries. With grandiose landscapes such as fjords or glaciers, she wears hiking boots! In addition, another must-see place in the country, the Lofoten Islands, must absolutely be part of your trip. In addition, did you know that you can practice surfing under the Northern Lights? 

7. Portugal

Portugal offers a great diversity of landscapes and very beautiful cities where a certain sweetness of life reigns. From the wild corners of the Algarve to Porto via Lisbon, set off to travel the roads to discover authentic landscapes. 8. Tenerife, the Destination for Hikers

9. Thailand, the Sweet Life

Undoubtedly the most popular destination in Southeast Asia! Come and discover Thailand through the bustling capital of Bangkok, the royal cities of Ayutthaya and Sukhothai or the very traditional Chiangmai. Go hiking in the parks to meet the local fauna and go boxing in the rice fields during an Odyssey experience. And, of course, what would the land of smiles be without its paradise islands? Moreover in summer, prefer those of the Gulf of  Thailand, which escape the monsoon. Sports, nautical and aquatic activities await you. 

10. North America and its Wide Open Spaces

North America is one of the top destinations for the summer. And more precisely, the Atlantic coast. The wide open spaces are conducive to road trips to discover extraordinary fauna and flora. Travel the roads of New England in the United States or visit bustling New York. Cross the border to arrive in Quebec, where nature is also queen and allows for breathtaking hikes. In summer, there is still time to watch the whales that sail in the St. Lawrence River or off Boston. Or, go to the Far West, and discover its wide open spaces.

11. Turkey and its Gems

Turkey has been attracting tourists from all over the world for centuries. Its largest city, Istanbul, is famous for its Grand Bazaar, stunning mosques and vibrant nightlife. Further south, the beaches of Antalya offer plenty of opportunities to relax while exploring ancient ruins like those at Ephesus and Pamukkale.
